WHY DON'T WE START A BAND?
Why Don’t We Start a Band? is Stine Pilgaards first dramatic play, after several successful novels. It takes place in the no-man’s land of waiting — at a bus stop where six strangers suddenly have to share space, rhythm, and responsibility for the silence. Out of the mundane emerge traces of loneliness, dreams, anger, and a longing for meaning. The performance is based on real voices from people who are often present in society but absent from its narratives. It explores the invisible labor of simply existing: enduring, holding together, staying awake. Through music, movement, and conversation, a collective language arises where meaninglessness is not erased but shared. Not as a solution, but as a possibility.
